Don Jose`s in Fullerton

This is our family's favorite local go to Mexican restaurant. We love their salsa! The portions are large and their food is always consistently good. They have a great happy hour and limited reduced priced lunch express menu on week days in their large comfortable bar area. The hours overlap each other from 3-4 p.m. which is a bit of bargain.

Good food, nice bar..great Irish Music...what??? Yep, our friends Rob and Terry ,of Fenians fame,play here from time to time!. Fun evening.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch and really enjoyed it. We had the Chili Colorado and the Chili Rellano. Both were excellent, as was my Margarita. Our waiter was very professional and friendly. If we're in the vicinity again when it's time for lunch, we'll definitely eat again at Rodrigo's.

The food is decent, but nothing like Don Jose used to be. The prices are little higher than what they should be for some items. Mine was a meatball soup, $7.00 for bowl of it. It was slightly seasoned lots of celery in it more than anything and 3 meatballs.

This used to be Don Jose's. Most of the food is still the same. Very delicious Mexican authentic food. God bless, and stay safe.

Taco Tuesday... $2 Build your own tacos.... They fill the soft steamed taco shells w/ meat ( Chicken, Pork or Beef ) lots of meat btw & you tell them what you want on it. Choices are Lettuce, Cheese, tomatoes, Cilantro, Onions, various salsa ranging in heat & a really good Avocado sauce. Very tasty.And Margis are $4. What a deal. We ate in the bar so Im not sure if this avail in you sit in the rest ... might wanna ck before seated.Olè.

Love Fullerton location. Staff and food is always wonderful. During this period of staying home they have stayed open for take out. My husband and I are older and I have many of the serious risk factors. We believe in supporting our local businesses now more than ever. Please leave them a big tip to help offset their operating expenses. They are family owned and locally managed.

We normally go to the one in Anaheim but this one is just as good. Don't forget to use the 2 fer coupon. 👍

Pretty large restaurant, so were their portions. Salsa could be better if it was more spicy. Food was tasty but pricey!

We love it here. Rodrigo's is our go to restaurant. Good food. Consistent. Very good customer service!!! Most of the time we eat in the bar. Totally family friendly and adult friendly!!!!!!!!

I used to love this place back when it was don José. I hadn't gone in a couple years. But I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. It was late about an hour before closing, but still you'd think they'd have the chip warmer turned on. The chips had no salt, no flavor and were cold. The salsa was just crushed tomatoes. I got the enchilada and taco combo. My beans were burned yet cold at the same time. The taco was crunchy in parts and undercooked in others. Overall everything sucked. I paid $16 for an undercooked taco, burned beans and a dry yet chewy enchilada oh and a non fiz soda. I won't be back

The place looks emaculant. It's a very welcoming environment. The interiors welcome you. Coming to the food. I have ordered the Fajitas lunch special. I can say one thing for sure. I was full and some more. You can say the food and your experience will be good when the food in the plate speaks to you. It was a good place to catch a nice lunch.

It was ok , Chicken was a little under seasoned , needed more flavor . The staff was great .service was good too. Thanks Emma....my server.. 🤘😎

Even though I didnt get the full dining experience due to COVID 19, food to go was bomb,including the house margaritas to go! Perfect. Employees were friendly,prices could be lower, but I'd definitely pay again for the chicken taco!

This place is just like I remembered from my teen years. We dined here for my sister's birthday and they were exceptionally accommodating for our large group, even our orders with special requests for food allergies. Bring your family for a casual meal that tastes great.

Don Jose's is now called Rodrigo's Mexican Resaurant. Same food, some new drinks like the Coconut Margharita. Lillian is one of the fastest and friendliest of the wait staff. The food is always hot and always the same quality.

The best chicken tacos

We weren't to hungry so we just had a quick bite. I had two cheese enchiladas and a taco with rice and beans. Everything was delicious. We shared the fried ice cream which was also good. The best part was the excellent service. I will definitely be back.

Food quality consistent for over 35 years. We must support them through these troubling times. They've gone the extra mile to serve us.

Great place for Mexican food! The family and I have been going here for years. Well when it was still Don Jose. But it’s basically the same as it was before. Most of the staff is the same. Everyone is friendly and the food is always good!

Reliably good, inexpensive Mexican food. Their chips and salsa are the bomb when you go in hungry. That and an ice cold peach tea! Good stuff. Service can get terribly slow at times but the food is still tasty.

I have gone there for years when they were called Don Jose's, but lately the food has been on the decline although the prices keep going up. The service has also been poor lately. We need a new Mexican restaurant in this area.

60th Birthday at Rodrogo's. We eat here once a week anyways, so when my Birthday came around, WHY NOT !!!

Taco Tuesdays starts addy 5pm. Hugo the bartender is very friendly and accommodating. Good Micheladas.

My wife and I have dined here repeatedly for years. The high quality of their food has been consistent, and service has been consistently excellent. The room at the back of the dining room is convenient for accommodating large groups.

Service was prompt, the food was pretty good too. Now the pricing... Yikes. For 2 people to eat it was $42. To put that into perspective, that was for 2 burritos, 2 drinks (non alcoholic), and churros. The pricing is quite far off the mark for what we got. Too expensive. Back to the food quality. The order was correct for the most part except the food was requested without onions. They still put onions in. Typically not an issue, but what if it were an alert concern? There's always potential for cross contamination, but this is something that's usually deal breaker for many due to a simple texture dislike. I feel that once they get the pricing in line with where it should be and make sure food requests are honored more to the T, this place could easily be a 4 or 5 star.

Food is good, overpriced for what it is. I go more out of tradition than anything. If you want good, cheap Mexican food, I'd go to mexicasa in Anaheim. However, I do enjoy the mirrors in the bathroom where if you stand in the corner you can see a bunch of yourself.

Great service and food. More than enough food for the price, and salsa was excellent. Just need to trim the palm tree by the handicapped parking so you don't have to duck and move the branches.
